Overview

Relief General Kitchen Assistant – Caerau Primary School. Job description: As and When Needed. Term time role providing primary, secondary and special school meals to 56 schools across the county borough. Catering Services have a variety of opportunities for you to work as a General Kitchen Assistant across their service and would like to hear from you.

The role includes assisting in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals, while maintaining a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff. You will be required to lay out dining tables and chairs and, in some schools, operate a touch screen terminal. Training will be provided on start.

Cover across schools in the County Borough is a requirement of the role, as well as holding a Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate; training will be provided if necessary to help you obtain this.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for pupils and staff.
  • Lay out dining tables and chairs; operate touch screen terminals in some schools (training provided).
  • Cover at schools across the County Borough as required.
Hours and Location

Working hours will be confirmed on appointment but are typically between 10.00am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided if necessary).
  • DBS check: Enhanced with Children’s Barred List is a requirement for this post.
  • Willingness to cover multiple schools across the County Borough.
