Overview

37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days. £13.85 per hour. 3 Months Fixed Term Contract. Upminster, Station Road, RM14 2TD. As a Food Service Assistant with Sodexo at a Ministry of Defence (MOD) base, you’ll play an important role in supporting military personnel. Your day-to-day interactions will directly impact the experience of those serving, ensuring they have a positive and efficient dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company and client policies, Food Safety, and Health & Safety regulations.
• Ensure proper storage, security, and daily documentation of catering supplies.
• Attend daily briefings, training sessions, and staff meetings as required.
• Deliver friendly, efficient, and polite service to customers and clients.
• Operate tills, check floats, and perform cashing-up as required.
• Maintain clean and tidy front-of-house areas throughout the day.
• Support team relationships and contribute to site initiatives.
• Comply with safe systems of work, including manual handling and COSHH.
• Assist with ad-hoc functions and support operations outside normal hours when needed.

What You’ll Need

• Able to provide daily support across all aspects of the operation.
• Attend and contribute to team briefings and training sessions.
• Help maintain front-of-house standards: tidy counters, fully stocked products, correct labelling, and clear tariffs.
• Flexible and willing to assist with ad-hoc duties or initiatives.
