Job summary

Eothen Homes Limited is seeking a Relief Chef to cover our Wallsend, Gosforth and Whitley Bay homes. The role involves 30 hours per week with 10-hour shifts, across three days, delivering a balanced, nutritious menu for residents.

The ideal candidate will hold an intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent catering training, with experience in quality catering practices and supervisory duties over Kitchen Assistants.

Qualifications

Wide experience of good catering practice.
Ability to supervise Kitchen Assistants.

Responsibilities

Prepare balanced and nutritious meals for residents.
Cover for multiple homes: Wallsend, Gosforth and Whitley Bay.
Supervise Kitchen Assistants and maintain kitchen standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety policies and DBS checks.
Work 10-hour shifts across 3 days (30 hours per week).

Relief Chef – Wallsend, Gosforth, Whitley Bay

Location: Wallsend, Gosforth and Whitley Bay

Hourly Rate: £18.20 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

We currently have an opportunity for a Relief Chef to join Eothen Homes, cover for all homes, Wallsend, Gosforth and Whitley Bay, working 30 hours per week (3 days), working 10 hour shifts.

The successful candidate will be passionate about food with a flexible approach to ensure people enjoy positive mealtime experiences. You will provide a balanced and nutritious diet, through a series of flexible menus, suitable to the needs of residents living in the home.

An intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or appropriate catering training and/or a wide experience of good catering practice is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising the Kitchen Assistants.
