Catering Assistant Grade 3 – Various locations within Moray Council Area

Salary: £13.26 per hour

As Catering Assistant you will work within the Catering Team supporting the Unit Supervisor at various locations on an as and when required basis to deliver healthy, fresh and nutritious meals.

Moray Council Catering Services operate across 52 schools in both primary and secondary schools as well as providing meals for Early Years Settings throughout the area. You could join the 300 staff we have across Moray preparing and serving meals daily to schools and nurseries, making us the largest catering operation in Moray.

This post is considered to be a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

Responsibilities
  • Work within the Catering Team supporting the Unit Supervisor at various locations on an as and when required basis.
  • Help deliver healthy, fresh and nutritious meals.
  • Assist with preparation and serving of meals in schools and nurseries.
  • Support colleagues to ensure meals are prepared to required standards and timelines.
  • Maintain kitchen and service areas to required hygiene and safety standards.
The Individual / Requirements
  • Willingness to work across multiple locations within Moray Council be adaptable to a variable rota.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from the Unit Supervisor.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, food safety, hygiene and nutrition standards for school meals.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and, where applicable, PVG scheme membership or update.
