Job summary

Shaw Education Trust is seeking a reliable Site technician to join our school team. The role supports the safe, tidy and welcoming environment of the school and grounds, under direction of senior staff. It includes routine cleaning, maintenance, basic repairs and setting up furniture.

Part-time position, 25 hours per week (1pm–6pm), with responsibilities spanning heating, lighting, alarm systems and responsive tasks across the site to promote pupil welfare and a positive school environment.

Qualifications

• Reliable, practical and able to work independently.
• Willingness to perform cleaning, maintenance, basic repairs and gardening tasks.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day care of the school site, including security of premises.
• Carrying out routine cleaning and general maintenance.
• Monitor heating, lighting and alarm systems.
• Carry out minor repairs (basic plumbing and joinery) and decorating.
• Manage waste and consumables; move/set up furniture.
• Respond to spillages, blockages and adverse weather conditions.
