About Us

We are a high-performance Formula One team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Reliability department works at the heart of engineering, partnering with teams across the business to understand failures, reduce risk, and ensure each component delivers the robustness and consistency required to compete at the highest level.

The Role

As a Reliability Student Placement, you will support investigations into reliability challenges experienced both at the factory and on track, helping to understand why faults occur, and reducing future risks. Through a combination of data analysis, hands-on investigation, testing, and collaboration with engineers across multiple departments, you'll help identify improvement opportunities and contribute to solutions that enhance car performance and reliability. You will have the opportunity to work across all areas of the car, at all stages of the design and validation process, whilst learning from experienced engineers and reacting to faults as they happen at the track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Reliability Department in the management and tracking of faults and components across the organisation.
  • Assist with fault investigations, root cause analysis activities, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist with reliability reporting and the maintenance of component life tracking systems.
  • Analyse reliability data to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work with engineers across Design, Manufacturing, Operations, and Performance groups to gather information and track progress on fault resolution activities.
  • Support system and process improvement initiatives within the Reliability function.
  • Participate in technical reviews, meetings, and discussions, gaining exposure to the lifecycle of car development.
  • Collaborate with design, performance, manufacturing, and test teams to implement reliability improvements.
  • Help ensure components meet reliability, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Systems Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM subject, and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university.
  • Ability to communicate a good understanding of engineering fundamentals, mechanical systems and technical concepts.
  • Analytical and detail-orientated mindset with an interest in problem solving, fault investigation, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with technical information, through engineering software, data analysis tools, or practical engineering projects.
  • An enthusiasm for engineering, with a desire to proactively learn within a high-performance motorsport environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the resilience to adapt to changing priorities and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
  • Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September.

The original A110 road car was introduced in 1962 and, by the early 1970s, Alpine was a major force in topflight rally competition. Filled with this racing passion and savoir-faire, the brand continued to release new and innovative road cars throughout the 70s and 80s, including the A310 V6 and the GTA. As soon as Alpine's relaunch in 2012 was announced, a competition programme was born to develop the brand's awareness. This commitment was underlined in endurance racing, which has enjoyed numerous successes on international circuits. Fast forward to 2021 and Alpine took its very first steps into the elite realms of Formula 1, after Luca de Meo announced the company’s decision to enter the series as the rebranded Alpine F1 Team. In 2024, the brand is reiterating its commitment to Formula 1, Endurance, Rally, Cup, GT and the SimRacing sphere through Esports.
