Job ID: 3079484 | Amazon UK Services Ltd.
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations – they’re the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times.
As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You’ll help keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime, boosting the availability and quality of our equipment and enhancing the operational environment.
Our RME Technicians are based on‑site, enabling quick responses to any machinery issues. You’ll carry out planned preventive maintenance on site equipment to ensure it operates safely, respond promptly to breakdowns by investigating, identifying and implementing solutions as quickly as possible, and suggest long‑term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll undertake day‑to‑day maintenance tasks and liaise with contractors when external expertise is needed. You’ll work a range of shifts to support our sites around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed it’s known for.
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team keeps equipment performing at its best. We’re a technically minded group of players guided by experienced leaders, working together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across Amazon’s global network of fulfillment centres.
From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. We also keep buildings legally compliant, ensuring that everyone is safe and that sites operate at maximum efficiency.
There are many opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and across Amazon. Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in our operations sites, ensuring customers receive orders on time. We often work during early or late hours, including night shifts, to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption. When we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce new processes or cutting‑edge technology such as Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.
