Job summary

Protein Works in Liverpool is seeking a qualified Engineering & Facilities Technician to keep our production lines and site infrastructure reliable. You will own maintenance end-to-end, drive root-cause analysis, manage suppliers and contractors, and use CMMS to document work and audits.

This role suits a hands-on, reliability-focused engineer with NVQ Level 3 and 3+ years in FMCG or regulated manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical/Maintenance.
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in FMCG or regulated manufacturing.
• Hands-on CMMS experience, ideally setup or integration.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site infrastructure.
• Research faults, identify root causes and reduce repeat failures.
• Own jobs end-to-end: order parts, chase suppliers and track progress.
• Coordinate contractors for HVAC, lifts, MHE and critical infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for audits using our CMMS.
• Manage spare parts stock to avoid overstocking.
• Use data to spot failure trends and reduce downtime.
• Upskill operators to use equipment safely and effectively.
• Drive continuous site reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with Technical, IT, Operations and Engineering teams.
• Promote a safety-first culture at all times.
