Job summary

National Grid in the UK is hiring for Associate Relationship Manager/Relationship Manager to energise customer connections and manage milestones. This hybrid role is based at Warwick with home-working and travel across England and Wales.

You’ll act as the voice of the customer, build strong relationships, log feedback in our CRM, prepare account plans for strategic clients and contribute to the energy transition. A driving licence is required for field visits.

Qualifications

  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with customers to strengthen relationships.
  • Log customer complaints and resolve quickly and efficiently.
  • Capture customer intelligence in our CRM and feed insights into plans.
  • Act as data champion for CRM data accuracy and pipeline logging.
  • Update customers via progress meetings and communications.
  • Understand customer needs and articulate TOCO to suit them.
  • Write Account Plans for strategic customers.
  • Share knowledge and coach colleagues.

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from our Warwick office and home. You’ll be flexible to regular travel throughout England and Wales, depending on the Customer project.

Job Purpose

The Relationship Manager is the first point of contact for our customers and supports them through our connections process. They’re the voice of the customer internally and ensure we know the customer’s needs and requirements, whilst actively managing the customers progression against critical connection milestones.

This role is crucial in connecting customers to the high voltage transmission system in England and Wales and turning the UK’s net zero ambitions into reality.

About You

  • Experience of managing multiple customers or stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of being able to influence at a peer level.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiations skills.
  • Thrives in a busy working environment with numerous activities running in parallel.
  • Experience in relationship and/or account management preferred.
  • Experience in using a CRM System (Salesforce or similar) preferred.

Full Driving Licence required

What You’ll Do

  • Proactively engage with customers to build and strengthen relationships.
  • Log customer complaints and resolve these quickly and efficiently.
  • Capture customer intelligence in our CRM system and feed insight into our business plan.
  • Act as a data champion for our CRM system to ensure our data is accurate and aligns with our customer’s pipeline – including the logging of all customer meetings/interactions.
  • Understand our customer’s needs and keep them updated via progress meetings and communications.
  • Have a good understanding on all aspects of a TOCO and be able to articulate in ways to suit customer understanding.
  • Write Account Plans for our strategic customers.
  • Share knowledge, coach and help in develop

Salary between £42,000 to £54,000 dependent on experience
