Role Summary

The Reablement and Home First Team provides vital short‑term services to people in their homes to help them regain as much independence as possible after a stay in hospital, an injury or illness. This role supports people with personal care, meal preparation, medication supervision, and exercise programmes. The service operates 7 days a week between 07:00 and 22:00 with multiple rota patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Support people with personal care, meal preparation, medication supervision and exercise programmes.
• Deliver care services on a 7‑day rota, including 4 on/4 off or 2 on/6 off patterns.
• Maintain accurate care documentation and attend required training.
• Assist patients to regain independence and enable them to live in their own homes.
• Provide compassionate care in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants.

Shift patterns (highly sought): 08:00–13:30 (4 on/4 off) or 17:00–22:00 (4 on/4 off). Full‑time and evening positions are available.

Qualifications & Experience

• No previous experience in a paid or unpaid caring role is required but is an advantage.
• Enjoy working with people and understand what motivates them.
• Comfortable with personal, sometimes intimate care provision.
• Desire to learn and develop skills; able to work both independently and within a team.
• Basic IT skills.
• Valid UK driving licence and vehicle access (role is locality‑based visiting).
• Capability to obtain the Care Certificate and progress to a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker.
