Job summary

Johnson Matthey invites applications for a Regulatory Systems & Data Specialist role in the UK. You will drive regulatory data management, operate and improve WERCS Studio, and resolve data integrity issues across multiple source systems and outputs.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, IT/data management skills, and the ability to interpret regulatory data with clear communication to stakeholders. Hybrid working arrangements are available to support flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Product Stewardship systems including WERCS Studio.
• Investigate and resolve data integrity and data flow issues across source systems and outputs.
• Apply chemical understanding to interpret regulatory data (safety data sheet inputs, classifications).
• Collaborate with master data owners to ensure accurate, complete data across systems.
• Interface with JMIT and IT teams to support system integration, issue resolution, and improvements.
• Engage with the WERCS vendor (UL) or others to support issue investigation and best practices adoption.
• Build and maintain understanding of regulatory needs and how they map to data requirements.

Job title: Regulatory Systems & Data Specialist

Location: UK Flexible

The role

As a Regulatory Systems & Data Specialist, you will help drive our goals by:

• Operating and continuously improving Product Stewardship systems, including WERCS Studio, ensuring reliable and effective use for regulatory data management
• Investigating and resolving data integrity and data flow issues, working across source systems, integrations, and WERCS outputs
• Applying chemical understanding to validate and interpret regulatory, hazard, and product data (e.g. safety data sheet inputs, classifications)
• Collaborating with master data owners to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent data across systems
• Acting as the primary interface with JMIT and IT teams to support system integration, issue resolution, and improvements
• Engaging with the WERCS vendor (UL) or other to support issue investigation, system optimisation, and adoption of best practices
• Building and maintaining an understanding of the regulatory needs of the business and its markets and how this is broken down into regulatory data requirements

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly
• Strong IT and data management skills (e.g. database handling, system configuration, or data analysis)
• Scientific degree or equivalent (e.g. chemistry, biochemical sciences, environmental sciences etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and explain regulatory requirements clearly
• Able to prioritise workload and meet service delivery expectations
