Job summary

Fusion Energy Base seeks a Permitting & Consent Manager to own the STEP programme's regulatory workstreams, advising senior stakeholders and coordinating with regulators while shaping governance and compliance. The role is based at West Burton, Nottinghamshire and is full-time.

We value extensive experience in regulatory approvals, team mentoring, and proactive risk management, with a focus on delivering robust regulatory documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in permitting, consenting, licensing or regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing permits through application, submission and determination.
• Experience leading, supervising or mentoring colleagues.
• Excellent written communication skills with robust regulatory documentation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with regulators or government bodies.
• Strong organisational skills across multiple complex workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Permitting & Consenting Activities: manage end-to-end permit, licence, consent and exemption workstreams.
• Build and maintain regulatory relationships with regulators, government departments and external stakeholders.
• Lead assurance, governance and compliance; support audits and maintain regulatory documentation.
• Lead and develop a small team; provide coaching and quality assurance.
