Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Legal Assistant to join the in-house Regulatory Team in Corby. You will support fee earners by drafting routine pleadings, preparing case summaries, and reviewing documents for tribunal and court hearings while ensuring bundles are complete and properly paginated.

You should hold CILEx, LLB Hons Law or Level 3 qualification (or be working toward CILEx Level 3) and have strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a

• Hold CILEx, LLB Hons Law or Level 3 qualified (or working towards CILEx Level 3) or have relevant experience in law.
• Be able to support the provision of legal advice commensurate to officers, client services and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrate good organisational skills with ability to use initiative and prioritise workloads.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Draft routine pleadings and file legal documents.
• Obtain and review reports, witness statements and other papers for tribunal appeals and court hearings.
• Prepare/draft case summaries and position statements.
• Ensure Tribunal/Court Bundles are complete, paginated and ready for proceedings.
• Attend meetings, courts, tribunals or other forums to take notes or transcripts.
