Job description

Role: Regulatory and Professional Discipline Solicitor (1-3 years' PQE). The Healthcare Regulatory and Professional Discipline Team acts for medical defence organisations and private clients in respect of regulatory, disciplinary, coronial and criminal matters. The team is highly regarded in this diverse and exciting area of work, having been ranked in The Legal 500.

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for managing own caseload with supervision.
  • Ensure case management records are maintained.
  • Assist other lawyers in the team with their work, including supporting senior fee earners where necessary.
  • Due to the nature of the work, be flexible to assist with cases and instructions outside of normal working hours when required.
  • Meet chargeable hours targets.
  • Assist with the training and development of junior members of the team and provide training sessions to our institutional clients.
Qualifications
  • You will be a qualified solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE (relevant additional experience will also be considered).
  • You will have experience in professional regulation.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulation processes (ideally GMC and GDC proceedings).
  • Advocacy experience in matters such as Pre‑Inquest Hearings, Inquests, Interim Orders Hearings and police interviews (preferred but not essential).
  • A willingness to extend your existing skills and develop expertise in this area of law.
  • Conscientious, self‑motivated, hardworking, responsive, with critical thinking abilities.
