SSEN Transmission is experiencing significant growth driven by the need to connect considerable volumes of renewable generation onto our network to facilitate the pathway to Net Zero. Our regulation team is crucial in developing and delivering transmission infrastructure in the North of Scotland.
As a Senior Analyst in the Regulation Team, you will help the wider SSEN Transmission business understand the opportunities and barriers to delivering projects, new services, and consumer outcomes by translating existing policies and regulations and identifying upcoming reforms. You will be working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to achieve these outcomes and goals.
We place real value on thorough evidence and analysis to inform our decisions. It's essential that we continually evaluate the impact of current policies and regulations and ensure that decisions about future changes are well-informed and evidence-led. This means you will need a good understanding of UK energy system policy, network regulations, and the wider net zero environment.
Our Senior Analysts work across a range of policy areas including price controls, industry reform and wider net zero policy. You will lead on developing and responding to consultations and industry working groups. You will support senior colleagues in the development and implementation of broader work packages, including the ASTI framework submissions and the enduring regulatory price controls.
In this role, you will benefit from the support and expertise of colleagues across the Regulation Team and the wider SSEN Transmission business, helping you to succeed and develop.
SSE's purpose is to be restless every day until we make electricity clean, affordable and available for all.
We do this by developing, building, operating and investing in electricity infrastructure and businesses needed in the energy transition. This includes electricity transmission and distribution networks, onshore and offshore wind farms, hydro-electric power and flexible thermal generation. We also provide products and services for businesses and other customers.
Our investment plan will see SSE invest £33bn in critical electricity infrastructure to 2030.
SSEN Transmission own and operate the electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland. We transport electricity from where it is generated to where it is needed, ensuring a safe and reliable electricity supply for the communities we serve. But that's not all - we're upgrading the grid to deliver cleaner, homegrown power for the future and building the infrastructure needed for a cleaner electricity system to create secure power for generations to come.
