Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment is seeking a Facility Manager to lead a portfolio of operational facilities in a highly regulated environment. The role focuses on safe, compliant and available facilities to support operational delivery, with responsibility for integrated FM services and strong stakeholder engagement.

You will work onsite, collaborating with operation leaders, technical specialists, project teams and service providers to ensure facilities meet business and programme requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities, estate, operational or process management.
• Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
• Experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and make effective operational decisions.
• Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving capabilities.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of an operational facility portfolio.
• Ensure facilities remain safe, compliant and available to meet business and programme requirements.
• Co-ordinate the delivery of hard and soft FM services in accordance with defined service standards.
• Act as the focal point for facility users, building strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
• Provide authoritative advice on compliance, duty holder responsibilities and operational risk.
• Deliver robust work control arrangements and support safe execution of maintenance and project activities.
• Support regulatory interactions and assurance activities relating to facility operations.
• Contribute to asset governance arrangements, including change management and configuration control.
• Develop the capability and performance of embedded Facilities Management resources.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and value for money across the facility portfolio.
