Job summary

Eastcott Referrals in Swindon is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Imaging team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop diagnostic imaging skills in a specialist referral setting alongside radiologists and imaging professionals.

The role offers exposure to digital radiography, CT and MRI, with a supportive and collaborative environment, plus extensive in-house training and CPD support to grow your knowledge within the hospital.

Qualifications

  • Qualified RVN with current registration.
  • Interest in diagnostic imaging and willingness to develop specialist skills.
  • Flexible team player with good communication.
  • Experience in imaging is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with digital radiography, CT and MRI procedures.
  • Prepare and support patients throughout imaging journey.
  • Position patients and assist with image acquisition.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Work with clinicians and radiology teams across the hospital.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the Imaging Department.
  • Assist with sedation and anaesthesia as required.

Veterinary Nurse - Imaging & Diagnostics

Location: Eastcott Referrals, Swindon

Hours: Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week with participation in a 1 in 8 weekend rota

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse with an interest in diagnostic imaging and delivering excellent patient care?

Eastcott Referrals is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated RVN to join our dedicated Imaging team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who would like to develop their imaging skills and gain experience within a specialist referral environment, working alongside experienced imaging professionals and veterinary specialists.

Whether you already have imaging experience or are looking to build your skills in this area, we would love to hear from you. Our imaging modalities include digital radiography, CT and MRI, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound providing exposure to a varied and interesting caseload.

The Imaging Department consists of two Imaging Nurses, a Radiographer, three Radiologists and a Radiology Resident, creating a collaborative and supportive environment with excellent opportunities for learning and professional development.

The Role

As an Imaging Nurse, you will play an important role in delivering a high-quality diagnostic imaging service. See below for the core responsibilities of the role but not an exhaustive list of duties:

  • Assisting with digital radiography, CT and MRI procedures
  • Preparing and supporting patients throughout their imaging journey
  • Positioning patients and assisting with image acquisition
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
  • Working closely with clinicians, radiologists and multidisciplinary teams across the hospital
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the Imaging Department
  • Assisting with sedation and anaesthesia as required to support the hospital

We are looking for a flexible team player who is willing to contribute to the wider running of the hospital and support colleagues across departments when needed to help deliver exceptional patient care.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care
  • Interested in diagnostic imaging and keen to develop specialist skills
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and eager to learnA confident team player with strong communication skills
  • Organised, proactive and able to work effectively in a busy referral environment

Previous imaging experience would be beneficial but is not essential. We welcome applications from nurses who have a genuine interest in imaging and are excited by the opportunity to learn within a specialist setting.
