Job summary

inspiring vet care seeks a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic on a part-time, fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave for approximately 12 months.

Based in Essex near Chelmsford, the clinic is equipped for digital X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy and various spa procedures, with a team of equine vets and nurses. The role involves nursing first-opinion cases, assisting vets, and delivering high standards of care.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic on a part‑time basis. This is a fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave for approximately 12 months.

Based in Essex close to Chelmsford, our main clinic has a full range of equipment (digital X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy and gastroscopy, laser therapy/surgery, arthroscopy, gait analysis, specialised dental procedures, etc.), including surgical facilities, examination rooms, stables and isolation facilities. We service a wide range of clients – from leisure horse owners to international competition yards, so you must be confident in handling a range of horses. The successful person will be joining our fantastic team of 7 equine vets and 3 qualified equine veterinary nurses.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As an Equine Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 24 hours per week
• Ideally, you will work across 3 days - Monday, Wednesday and Friday, working 8 am - 5:30 pm
• 1:5 weekends when required to care for inpatients/cover emergencies
• 1 weeknight per week on call

General Responsibilities
