We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Cogges Veterinary Surgery on a full time basis.

Cogges Veterinary Surgery is a small animal practice based in Witney, Oxfordshire. Witney is a lovely Market town with a wide range of shops, eateries and weekly market all set in an idyllic location. Oxford is a short drive away and beautiful Cotswold villages are right on your doorstep, making Witney a perfect choice to live and work. We value a team approach and someone who will keep client and patient care at the forefront of everything they do.

Cogges Veterinary Surgery first opened in May 1993. We have been growing ever since and have built a reputation for being friendly and professional, whilst working hard to form an integral part of the community.

Practice Highlights
  • Our RVNs are incredibly experienced and so you would be part of a knowledgeable and dynamic team.
  • Our ops days are very nurse‑led and we offer a variety of nurse consultations so there is plenty of room and support for development.
  • We work to a high standard with plenty of kit to help including a multi‑parameter, capnography, BP monitoring, a high‑spec ultrasound machine, dental x‑ray, digital radiography and an in‑house laboratory with plenty of cytology for ear and skin cases.
How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. Your shifts are split between theatre, prep, kennels, float and reception/dispensary.

Working Pattern

40 hours, spread over a 5 day week. 3 early shifts of 8‑4:30pm and 2 late shifts from 11:30am to 8pm. Share of weekends and bank holidays.

You Might Be a Great Fit If…
  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
How We’ll Support You
  • A varied and rewarding nursing role within a supportive primary care environment
  • Clear career pathways with progression opportunities into Senior Nurse, Referral, leadership roles, clinical supervisor routes, mentoring and certificate pathways
  • Ongoing learning and development supported by experienced colleagues and practice teams
  • A collaborative, values‑led culture focused on care, community, and continuous improvement
What We Offer Our Team
  • 6.8 weeks' annual leave
  • Increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
  • Enhanced family‑friendly policies, including maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and surrogacy pay
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Employee wellbeing initiatives including Healthcare Cash Plan and Cycle to Work scheme
  • £550 CPD allowance plus 24hrs paid leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees covered
  • Pension scheme
  • Discounted veterinary care
  • Voluntary benefits: choose from a range of benefits to suit you, including Green Cars salary sacrifice scheme and access to discounts and cashback with hundreds of participating retailers

We’re committed to supporting our people through career development opportunities, wellbeing initiatives and access to world‑class learning resources.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take the next step in your career, inspiring vet care offers the support, opportunity and community to help you grow.
