Job summary

WhatsApp Inc. is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a large, supportive team at a busy Southampton practice.

You will deliver high‑quality nursing care across a varied caseload, while developing your career in a collaborative environment with RVNs, vets and reception staff. The role offers a range of duties from clinical nursing to nurse clinics and Schedule 3 procedures, with opportunities for emergency and critical care, theatre, inpatient care and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with current registration.
• Experience in busy hospital nursing preferred.
• Willing to work a 13 night shifts per year rota.

Responsibilities

• Provide a broad range of nursing care across a busy first opinion and referral caseload.
• Support emergency, theatre, inpatient care and nurse clinics.
• Assist with Schedule 3 procedures and foster professional development.

The hospital provides a varied first opinion and referral caseload, including ophthalmology and orthopaedics, with excellent facilities including digital radiography, dental x-ray, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ventilators, multi-parameter monitoring and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. The practice also provides its own 24/7 out-of-hours service for its clients. This role offers exposure to a broad range of nursing duties, with opportunities to pursue individual interests including emergency and critical care, theatre, inpatient care, nurse clinics and Schedule 3 procedures. Nurses work alongside a supportive team of experienced vets, RVNs and reception colleagues in a positive and welcoming environment.

Salary from £27,800 DOE with bonus scheme and excellent benefits, The practice is ideally seeking a full-time RVN but is happy to consider part-time applications and flexible working patterns, including compressed hours or shorter working days. The rota includes a minimum of 13 paid night shifts per year and a 1 in 7 weekend rota, with time off in lieu provided.
