Eastwood Vets for Pets

Full-time | 40 hours per week | Up to £30,000 DOE

About us

Eastwood is a small town located just twenty minutes between Nottingham and Derby and close to East Midlands Airport. The practice is minutes away from busy Giltbrook retail park and a large IKEA, and we are situated close to both junctions 26 and 27 of the M1 motorway. There are regular bus routes to nearby towns and cities and the new Ilkeston train station is just ten minutes away.

You will be working alongside Jon, our very experienced practice owner who is a certificate holder in small animal surgery, exotic animal practice, he is also an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery and zoological medicine. Jon also has a further qualification in endoscopy and endosurgery. We have an endoscopy set up in practice.

Jon is supported by four fantastic vets and an experienced nursing team consisting of head nurse, 4 nurses, 2 student nurse, animal care assistant and supported by Practice Manager and 4 client care advisors. A friendly close-knit team who often will go for walks in the peak district and out for meals.

We have a keen focus on skill advancement in our practice, with a generous CPD package offered. This is demonstrated with current staff members undertaking many certificates.

Our practice team is committed to providing a gold standard and client care, constantly going above and beyond. The ideal candidate will be looking to work in a patient focused practice, so excellent communication skills and dedication to your work are a must.

About you and the role

We’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic team player who is keen to work in a progressive, fast paced first opinion practice, with high clinical standards. You’ll be a confident and motivated RVN with some experience behind you, if you are interested in and/or are a clinical coach this would be an advantage.

The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the veterinary nurse role, delivering excellent patient and client care. You'll have the opportunity to help us shape the practice from day one.
