Job summary

Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership in Long Stratton is seeking a registered veterinary nurse to join our skilled team on a full-time basis. The role offers a mix of nurse clinics, theatre work and first opinion nursing within a supportive practice.

Based at our Long Stratton site, the RVN will deliver high-quality nursing care, work with a diverse caseload including orthopaedics and dermatology, and contribute to the development of patient care and client experience.

Qualifications

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Run nurse consultations and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education.
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing.
  • Assist with orthopaedic cases and support operating Veterinary Surgeons.
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our skilled team at Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership, Long Stratton on a full-time basis.

Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership is a supportive and clinically varied practice, with this role based at our Long Stratton branch.

Long Stratton is one of our main sites and offers an exciting opportunity for an RVN who enjoys a mix of nurse clinics, theatre, consultations and wider first opinion nursing.

We are lucky to have an orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon who works with us at least once a month, alongside a veterinary team with ophthalmology and dermatology skills. This gives our nursing team access to a varied and interesting caseload, with opportunities to support more advanced clinical work within a collaborative practice environment.

Practice Highlights
  • Access to varied clinical work, including orthopaedics, ophthalmology and dermatology cases
  • Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon working with the team at least once a month
  • Variety of nurse clinics, with nurses encouraged to use their knowledge and soft skills
  • CPD encouraged and supported, with specific interests utilised where possible
  • Supportive nursing team of 5.5 nurses
How You'll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • 35 hours per week
  • 4-day working week - 3 x 9-hour shifts and 1 x 8-hour shift
  • 1 in 8 Saturdays, 8:30am to 1:30pm - Time off in lieu is given for Saturdays worked
  • Please note, this role is 35 hours per week and we are unable to consider fewer hours
General Responsibilities
