Job description

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Robson Vets on a part-time basis.

Robson Vets is a friendly, well-established small animal practice set in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. You’ll be joining an experienced team of 4 senior vets, 4 nurses, 3 VCAs and a dedicated reception team, all working together to provide excellent patient care.

Our main practice in Laurencekirk is well equipped with a range of modern facilities, including infusion pumps, patient warmers, multiparameter monitors, digital X-ray and dental X-ray systems, and both rigid and flexible endoscopy. We also have blood pressure monitoring available in both our consulting rooms and surgical areas.

Our facilities include two fully equipped theatres, a dedicated dental suite, ICU and isolation units, and separate wards for cats and dogs. This allows us to provide high standards of clinical care while ensuring our patients have a comfortable and stress-free experience.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • 35 hours per week
  • Working on a rota basis Monday to Friday
  • 1 in 5 weekends: working Friday from 2pm-8pm, followed by Saturday from 8:30am-6pm
  • On the Friday night, you’ll be responsible for caring for inpatients from 8pm onwards as part of a sleep-in shift, with overnight on-call duties focused on inpatient care.
General Responsibilities
  • Nurse clinics
  • Theatre work including monitoring anaesthesia
  • Nurse led dentals
  • Inpatient care
  • Supporting our vets with diagnostics including imaging and lab work
