Qualifications

Registered Staff Nurse - Relief

Location: Our Lady's Care Home, 68 Ard Na Va Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT12 6FF.

Responsibilities
  • Develop tailored care plans and administer medicines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and make clinical decisions based on professional judgment.
  • Maintain accurate resident records and provide professional support to care staff.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment that enhances residents’ quality of life.
Essential Criteria
  • Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with current, active registration with the NMC.
  • Knowledge of PREPP, Primary Nursing, Care Planning, The Patients Charter and issues related to elderly care.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including RQIA, HSCT and health‑and‑safety guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Compassionate, empathetic and patient‑centred approach to care.
  • Commitment to promoting and safeguarding residents’ well‑being.
  • Flexibility to work set hours and meet organisational needs.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, valid work permit and be medically fit.
Desirable Criteria
  • Proven experience in a similar care‑home or nursing role.
  • Management skills required for a care team.
  • Experience nursing of the elderly in a nursing‑home environment.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
