Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Children’s Hospice seeks a Team Lead Registered Nurse to guide the multidisciplinary team in delivering specialist palliative and end-of-life care. Qualifications

As a Team Lead Registered Nurse, you will play a key leadership role in delivering outstanding specialist palliative and end of life care while supporting, inspiring and developing our multidisciplinary team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate nurse leader who shares our values of Caring, Respect, Innovative and Inclusive. You will help shape and continuously improve services, ensuring patients and families receive safe, responsive and holistic care during some of the most important moments of their lives.

Working alongside the Quality and Safety Lead and the Practice development Lead, you will support service development, champion quality improvement, nurture professional growth, and contribute to a culture where everyone feels valued, heard and empowered.

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be arranged and paid for by the hospice.

Please note that this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

The salary range shown is based on the Hospice's full-time equivalent (FTE) of 37.5 hours per week. For positions of 36 hours or lower, the salary will be calculated on a pro rata basis according to the contracted weekly hours.

Purpose of the Role

As a Team Lead Registered Nurse, you will play a key leadership role in delivering outstanding specialist palliative and end of life care while supporting, inspiring and developing our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Provide visible clinical leadership, acting as a role model for excellence in specialist palliative care.
Coordinate and support the nursing team to deliver safe, compassionate and effective care.
Ensure care is holistic, responsive and tailored to the individual needs and preferences of patients and families.
Promote independence, dignity, privacy and choice for every patient.
Support the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care using evidence‑based practice.
Maintain accurate, timely and high‑quality clinical documentation.
Manage and triage advice line calls, providing guidance and appropriate signposting.
Support safe medicines management in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
Support workforce planning to ensure safe staffing levels and an appropriate skill mix.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Experience working within a multi disciplinary team
Minimum three years' experience within palliative care or related specialist setting.
Demonstrable experience of leading and supporting clinical teams.
Experience of clinical supervision, teaching or mentorship.
Experience of quality improvement, audit or service development activities.
Experience assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating care

Desirable

Experience leading quality improvement or transformation projects.
Experience of research activity or publication.
Additional therapeutic or complementary care skills.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
Practice Assessor/Supervisor qualification or equivalent.

Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Post‑registration qualification in palliative care, oncology or related speciality.
