An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Surgical High Care Team. Our mission is to provide exemplary care to patients following their elective surgery in a high care environment. Our close nursing ratios enable us to provide care that meets the unique needs of patients post operatively. In Surgical High Care, patients will stay up to 48 hours for continuous monitoring and optimisation prior to returning to their admission surgical ward. We foster collaborative working with the wider multi-disciplinary team to promote enhanced recovery after surgery.
The post holder will be a Registered nurse, responsible for providing post operative care in a high care environment, involving specialist skills such as pain management, managing arterial lines, ABG interpretation, titration of vasoactive drugs, use of fluid protocols with cardiac output monitoring and high flow nasal oxygen delivery. Training, support and a supernumerary period will be provided.
