Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking newly qualified or experienced Staff Nurses to join our Paediatric Inpatient Unit at Basildon Hospital site. We are looking for pro-active Paediatric Nurses who deliver high quality patient care, work well in a team and bring a flexible approach to shifts.

The role is Band 5, 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities for full-time or part-time contracts and flexible working.

Qualifications

• RSCN / RN (child)
• NMC Pin
• Nursing/student nursing experience in the care of the child and family in an acute paediatric care setting.
• Experience or awareness of child protection issues.

Responsibilities

• We receive a wide variety of paediatric admissions including trauma, medical, surgical, haematology and oncology.
• Work as part of the paediatric nursing team to deliver high quality care to children and families.
• Support learning and development through a dedicated practice development team.

Main duties of the job

We are a supportive and encouraging department and you will be part of a solid team of paediatric nurses with different levels of experience. This will provide you with the support and camaraderie to make each day a good one. We have a number of band 7 senior sisters working directly within the department as well as a dedicated practice development team which work wholly on enabling you to develop your skills and experiences and facilitate further learning and training.

We receive a wide variety of emergency patients, including trauma, medical, surgical, haematology and oncology admissions.
