North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust in Carlisle is recruiting a Registered Nurse for Orthopaedics (Band 5) on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week, based at the Cumberland Infirmary.

You will be active in assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a twelve-month preceptorship for newly registered staff and opportunities to develop within a growing orthopaedic service.

Qualifications

There are exciting new opportunities as we develop and transform our orthopaedic services. We have trauma centre status and are currently further developing our frail elderly pathways in line with best practice tariff outcomes. We are 40 bedded Trauma Orthopaedic ward. We work very closely with a great team of Allied Health professionals to care for and rehabilitate our patients.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• General Registered Nurse with NMC
• NST 307, ENB 998/730 or equivalent
• D32/33 or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience

• Thorough understanding of contemporary nursing issues, i.e. CNO 10 key Roles
• Extended scope of practice skills, eg venepuncture

Skills and Aptitudes

• Able to manage a ward/department area for a period of a shift
• Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
• Ability to communicate with MDT
• Ability to work as member of a team
• Basic IT skills

Other requirements

• High level of personal motivation
• Must be flexible to meet the needs of the service
