A public health service in Tasmania seeks a dedicated registered midwife to provide women-centred care and promote safety within a collaborative healthcare team. The ideal candidate will uphold accountability and assist in the continuous development of quality standards. This is a permanent part-time position with varied shifts, offering a salary range of AUD $78,179 to $105,995 pro rata., and includes various employee benefits.
Womens+ Outpatient Service - Hospitals North, delivers both antenatal and gynaecology services to the Northern Tasmanian community. The multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to support women throughout their reproductive health journey, with a strong focus on continuity of care and consumer‑centred practice. The service also provides outreach clinics to improve access for rural and regional populations. Our service is committed to professional growth and offers rotational opportunities to the maternity ward, supporting professional development and service flexibility. The team’s work is guided by a commitment to excellence, equity, and innovation in women’s health.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites.

Permanent part time, shift worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing 6 January 2026.

$78,179 to $105,995 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
