Job description

The post holder will work as a Registered Nurse in the in-patient settings of the Mental Health & Learning Disability DeliveryUnit as directed. To assist in the provision of care and treatment to meet people's physical, psychological, social, mental andspiritual care needs. Assist the individual to maintain and improve their health, independence and recovery; within theclinical and / or community setting and will:o Work with individuals assisting them to gain new skills and values promoting self-direction and social inclusion.o Focus on providing person-centred care, with a shared responsibility for positive risk taking.o Assist people to exercise their rights and uphold safeguards to ensure minimal restriction on people's lives, whilst alsomaintaining the safety of others.o Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. Contribute to the operation and the development of highquality clinical services that aim to improve outcomes for people with mental health problems or learning disability.o Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice.o Act as named nurse or care coordinator to a small group of individuals; during their episode of care as outlined in themental health (Wales) measure 2010.o Provide one to one sessions with their allocated patients.o Act as an effective role model and mentor to junior staff.o Participate in the PADR process and continually update practice and education.

Main duties of the job

You will manage the ward for a span of duty and liaise with the MDT to deliver specialist healthcare to meet the needs of the patients.

You will act as Primary nurse for a small group of individuals and adhere to legislative frameworks.

You will promote equality for all service users through anti discriminatory practice, supporting individuals' rights, choices, beliefs and identity and by supporting individuals through effective communication.

You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a positive attitude to working with people with challenging behaviour and experience of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
