Job description

You will provide excellent nursing care and actively participate in and contribute to the management of the Endoscopy Unit. Participate in the maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and provide technical assistance during such procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set, monitor and maintain excellent standards of nursing care working within company policies and procedures.
• Provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe working practice.
• Ensure a friendly environment, maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity and privacy.
• Maintain timely and accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Store, check and administer drugs in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Work with minimal supervision during endoscopic procedures, admission and recovery of patients and other related procedures.
• Contribute to the local resolution, investigation and follow-up action of any informal or formal complaints.
• Participate in the care and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment, ensuring agreed standards of decontamination including accurate records of traceability of all endoscopes and associated equipment.
• Ensure the safe discharge of all patients from the Endoscopy unit.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment within the clinical area.
• Triage and pre-assess patients against specific criteria to ensure suitability for the procedure.

Are you a highly motivated Registered Nurse or ODP with the drive, ambition and commitment to deliver the highest standards of patient care? If you have NMC or HCPC registration and a demonstrable record of CPD with knowledge and current experience of professional practice within an Endoscopy department, we would like to hear from you.

Full‑Time – Mon – Sun – 37.5 hours – Shift pattern varies from the following: 08:00‑16:00; 10:00‑18:00; 08:00‑18:00.
