Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care in inpatient, day care and assessment services for Children’s and general patient populations across Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital, with opportunities to work in dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments at both sites.
• Contribute to a range of specialties and conditions, including high dependency care, across a variety of hospital and community settings within Morecambe Bay.
• Participate in delivering high quality care, maintain excellent clinical standards, and embrace change and transformation to meet community needs.

About the role and units

The units encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services, with dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments on both sites, providing a rich variety of experiences for staff. Our Children’s inpatient services care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years across two busy sites (Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital).

Our three main hospitals are Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community health premises across Morecambe Bay.

Locations

FGH and RLI offer General Hospital services with Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and consultant-led services. WGH provides General Hospital services plus an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life threatening conditions. Local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
