The units encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services, with dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments on both sites, providing a rich variety of experiences for staff. Our Children’s inpatient services care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years across two busy sites (Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital).
Our three main hospitals are Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community health premises across Morecambe Bay.
FGH and RLI offer General Hospital services with Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and consultant-led services. WGH provides General Hospital services plus an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life threatening conditions. Local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
