A leading healthcare provider in Ashford, England, is seeking enthusiastic nurses for Acute medicine. The role includes caring for acutely unwell patients with duties involving cardiac monitoring and teamwork within a large multidisciplinary team. Candidates must have a nursing qualification and be registered with the NMC. The position offers opportunities for professional development in a stimulating environment focused on excellent patient care. Visa sponsorship is available for specific candidates.
Are you interested in a career in Acute medicine? We currently have vacancies in Acute medical unit B and we are looking to increase our existing caring and compassionate team with nurses who are keen and enthusiastic. In return we can offer you a stimulating working environment which will develop the skills and abilities required in either speciality.
The Acute Medical Unit is divided into three areas.
Same Day Emergency Care which sees patients who are expected to go home the same day. This is a high paced area seeing 60+ patients a day, requiring assessment and treatment to enable them to go back home. We work closely with the Acute Physicians. Our nurse led DVT service has just been relaunched as well as the Virtual Ward service which provides daily medical support for patients who are able to go home for monitoring.
AMU A is our acute assessment area where we admit, assess and treat patients with an expected admission of up to 48hours. The turnover is high and the patients more acutely unwell on admission.
AMU B is our unit for patients that are still aiming to be discharged home within 72hrs.
Caring for acutely unwell patients from their admission, which will include patients requiring cardiac monitoring, non invasive ventilation and sepsis to name a few.
To help you do this you will be supported by a large multidisciplinary team which includes an established advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) programme, nurse consultants, practice development support and a governance, quality and audit team. AMU A, B and SDEC have their own Unit managers and a Matron who are supported by the Head of Nursing for UEAMLiaising with a broad multi-disciplinary team including a team of Acute Physicians, Radiology, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assisted Discharge teams, ACPs, Virtual Ward, Junior Doctors, specialist Doctors and our large team of ward clerks, house keepers and porters.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. We are in the enviable position of being surrounded by beautiful beaches and the Kent countryside but with easy links to the centre of London. So, whether you are interested in cathedrals, castles, exceptional grammar schools or chic and stylish restaurants, East Kent has something for everyone. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
