Job summary

A Life Care Retirement Community located in Greater London is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise staff. The role requires a valid RN license in Florida and CPR certification. Ideal candidates will have experience in long-term care and will manage critical tasks during the 3pm-11pm shift, ensuring high-quality care in the Health Center.

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to work 3pm-11pm in our Health Center. As a part of the Nursing Team, this individual will provide direct nursing care to residents as well as supervise day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurses in accordance with state and federal standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Role / Responsibility Charge RN Daily Duties:

  • Manage all admissions and discharges that occur on the day shift
  • Meet with each Med nurse to review day case load and special responsibilities
  • Review all new admissions from previous day to ensure admission check list is completed
  • Complete order entry
  • Complete or verify completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents that were assigned for day team
  • Notify MD/NP with issues as appropriate
  • Review labs and x-rays and ensure all have been addressed
  • Complete all skin inspections and Braden inspections according to schedule
  • Emergency support: Assist nurses in printing emergency records, calling for transport completing SBAR, Support other nurses in utilizing med dispense when necessary
  • Incidents and Accidents: Complete documentation for all Incidents including witness statements: Initial incident documentation, Progress not describing care provided, Update care plan with new prevention intervention suggestion
  • Manage Pharmacy deliveries and troubleshoot any problems with medication availability or order.
  • Attend morning meeting to review all new admissions.
  • Attend Base Line Care plan meetings with residents/families.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing

Weekends/Holidays add the following:

  • Staffing: 1.) Managing evening shift call offs (weekends and holidays): verify that all day staff arrive and they are aware of their assignments, review upcoming evening shift staffing and manage any problems using the staffing book. 2.) Monitor AHT compliance: EMAR/ETAR documentation, Smart Charting

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida and must be CPR Certified. ALL APPLICANT'S PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR CURRENT PROFESSIONAL FL RN LICENSE AND CPR CERTIFICATION WITHIN YOUR APPLICATION TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS.

Experience and Basic Knowledge: One year of long‑term care is desirable. Med‑surg, Home Health, Emergency Room experience helpful. In addition, experience working with the handicapped or developmentally disabled adults.

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are: Feeling, smelling, hearing, speaking, seeing, tasting

An individual in this position will be exposed to: Inside environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens, physical hazards using equipment, respiratory hazards

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
