Job summary

Welford Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and support our care team at Great Oaks Care Home in Bournemouth. The role offers day shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week and paid breaks, plus comprehensive training and ongoing development to advance your nursing career.

The successful candidate will have valid RGN NMC registration, at least 1 year of RN experience, and a strong grasp of CQC standards, with excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Valid RGN NMC Registration.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Strong understanding of CQC standards/ legislation.
• Proven leadership and organisational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of PCS and electronic care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality nursing care to residents.
• Conduct clinical assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care with residents and carers.
• Promote rights and needs of residents, including those with dementia, in care planning and delivery.
• Liaise with GPs, case managers, and other health professionals to coordinate resident care.
• Communicate clinical decisions and care pathways clearly to residents, carers and the care team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and provide feedback to carers and professionals as required.
• Utilise IT systems to ensure timely resident, workforce and resource data is recorded.
• Stay informed on current dementia care knowledge and implement best practices.

Who We’re Looking For

• Valid RGN NMC Registration.
• Previous experience within a similar setting is desirable but not essential.
• A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Registered Nurse.
• A clear understanding of CQC standards/ legislation.
• Strong leader, highly clinically skilled, well organised, able to take the lead.
• Great written and verbal skills for communication and understanding.
• Previous experience of PCS and electronic care planning.
• Able to inspire, motivate and lead by example.
• Flexible approach to the rota to meet the needs of the home

By providing the highest quality of nursing care, you’ll be helping to improve and sustain our residents’ quality of life. Leading and supporting a care team, you’ll:

• Provide high quality nursing care to our residents.
• Responsible for clinical assessment of residents, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated, involving residents and users.
• To promote the rights, interests, needs and choices of carers and people with dementia in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care and services.
• To liaise with GPs, case managers, primary health care practitioners, statutory and voluntary agencies, supporting our residents.
• Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to residents/carers and the multi-professional team including situations where difficulties in comprehension occur.
• To maintain clinical records and provide verbal and written feedback appropriately and as required, to carers, and persons with dementia as appropriate, and referring agencies and professional colleagues.
• Utilise and ensure others utilise information and IT systems to secure accurate and timely resident, workforce and resource data.
• To integrate into practice current knowledge of dementia and caring, informed by research and other forms of evidence.
