Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for an enthusiastic midwife to join our outpatient maternity team, working in our day assessment unit and also antenatal clinics. This role offers a dynamic mix of clinical midwifery alongside excellent work‑life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Antenatal midwifery care
  • Taking and following up of laboratory samples
  • Antenatal screening tests and referral to screening team/fetal medicine
  • Day‑to‑day running of obstetric clinics
  • Midwife clinics – VBAC and Anti‑D
  • Administrative tasks such as referrals, booking appointments and ultrasound scans
  • Opportunities to lead and develop specialist clinics such as Complex Maternal Medicine and Multiple Pregnancies
  • Providing scheduled care in day assessment unit such as CTG monitoring, pre‑op assessments, IV infusions and obstetric review, supporting our BSOTS triage system
Locations

We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – as well as community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. Additionally, local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
