Registered Manager / Senior Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Leigh, Greater Manchester
Hours: 40 per week
Salary:
- Registered Manager: £58,000 – £66,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Senior Registered Manager: £68,250 – £76,650 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional leader to join Young Foundations as either a Registered Manager or Senior Registered Manager at our new Children’s Home in Leigh, Greater Manchester.
You will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and outcomes for children and young people. Working within the Ofsted regulatory framework, you will foster a culture of excellence, compassion, and child‑centred practice — ensuring that every young person thrives in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Continuously assess the needs of children and young people, developing and implementing individualised care and development plans to support their wellbeing and progress.
- Coordinate and monitor staffing levels to ensure individual needs are fully met and workforce planning is effective.
- Maintain and develop high standards of practice in line with the Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations 2001, and the Quality Standards.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment that meets Health and Safety and Environmental Health requirements.
- Work proactively with Ofsted and other external monitoring bodies to ensure the service not only meets but exceeds regulatory and quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Registered Manager
In addition to the duties outlined above, the Senior Registered Manager will:
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership across their registered home and support wider organisational initiatives.
- Offer leadership, guidance, and operational support across other Young Foundations services as required.
- Represent the organisation at external events and professional forums, promoting Young Foundations’ mission, vision, and values.
- Deputise for the Operations Director when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and operational effectiveness.
- Contribute to organisational development projects such as leadership development and induction programmes, helping to shape best practice across services.
About You
You will bring vision, commitment, and a passion for delivering outstanding care. With proven management experience in a children’s residential setting, you will demonstrate strong leadership, an ability to inspire others, and a drive to achieve excellence.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this.
- Proven experience at management level within a Residential Children’s Home.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing and developing teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision‑making skills.
