A leading local authority in North Yorkshire is seeking a Registered Manager to oversee the delivery of services for adults with learning disabilities and autism. This permanent full-time position requires extensive experience in care management and a commitment to compliance with Care Quality Commission standards. The role involves working a variety of shifts to ensure a responsive and caring service. A relevant qualification and current UK professional registration are essential.
Join our dedicated team at North Yorkshire Councils Valley Road respite and day services. We support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. We are currently looking for a Registered Manager to join us on a permanent basis.
As Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward changes to maintain accreditation and deliver continuous improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring that the direct care and support provided is safe, effective, responsive, caring, well led and compliant. A major part of the role is ensuring that resources are used in a planned way to maintain an efficient and cost‑effective service, taking account of changing needs and resource availability, while supporting care staff to work in accordance with individual care and service plans. You will collaborate with people using the service, carers and health colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for people. In a changing environment, you will contribute toward closer working relationships with health and other partners to deliver improved outcomes for vulnerable adults in North Yorkshire. Leading and managing a range of senior care and support staff and ensuring the service complies with Care Quality Commission regulated activities and NYC policies and procedures is vital. A key part of your role will involve ensuring services are person‑centred and that staff support people to meet their personal outcomes. The service is delivered on a 24/7 basis, so you may be required to work a variety of shifts and be part of an out‑of‑hours on‑call service for the wider provider services.
Our service is busy and demanding but extremely rewarding. We provide a respite care service for adults with complex needs including autistic spectrum disorders or learning disabilities, as well as respite for older adults with care and support needs. We are proud to have received a Good rating in our most recent CQC inspection and to have gained Autism accreditation status through the National Autistic Society. Our service is designed in line with values including choice, promotion of independence and inclusion. Our ambition is for people with learning disabilities and autism to live as ordinary a life as any citizen. 65A Valley Road respite service is part of the Health and Adult Services, as well as the 65B Valley Road day service, both delivered by North Yorkshire Council, and we are committed to delivering services to the local community. We are proud of our record as a leading care service provider and consistently appear among the top performing Councils in the country.
