Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care in a hospital setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
  • Monitor patient conditions and identify deterioration signs.
  • Administer medications and treatments per clinical guidelines.
  • Carry out procedures within your scope of practice and competence.

About the Role

Bluestones Medical Nursing Agency is currently recruiting experienced General Nurses to work within Southport Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for Registered Nurses looking for flexible agency work within a busy hospital environment. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care across general medical and surgical wards, supporting patients with a variety of clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients within a hospital setting.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans where appropriate.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and identify any changes or signs of deterioration.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical guidelines.
  • Carry out clinical procedures within your scope of practice and level of competence.
  • Recognise and escalte concerns regarding a patient's condition appropriately.

  • Support patients with a range of medical and surgical conditions.
  • Assist with patient admission, discharge and transfer processes.

  • Promote patient dignity, privacy, equality and confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Comply with all relevant hospital policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with the NMC Code and professional standards.
Essential Requirements
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Recent and relevant experience working within a hospital or acute healthcare setting.
  • Experience caring for patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions.
  • Strong clinical assessment and nursing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and patient-centred care.
  • Current mandatory training relevant to the role.
