If so keep reading as this could be your opportunity to join our well established team here on Franszika Willer ward at sedgefield community hospital. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic staff nurse to join our team. We are a busy 26 bedded rehabilitation unit which is nurse and therapy led. Ensuring an intergrated approach for the benefit of out patients.

As a team we strive towards delivering a high standard of care and this is reflected in the feedback we receive from the patients and relatives who have had experience of being on our ward.

Main duties of the job

Franszika Willer ward is a 26 bedded rehabilitation ward. We also specialise in Palliative and End of life care. We accept patients from the acute sites, direct from accident and emergency, from other organisations and from the surrounding community.

The main duties of the role are:
  • Plan and deliver high quality of care to patients adhering to the trust policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of documentation.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Plan and deliver safe admissions and discharges.
  • Be responsible for the delegation of tasks to other members of the team.

You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
