Overview

Location: Middleton/East Anglia region

Salary: c 50,000 + car + benefits

Summary: Due to continued company growth, our client is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee operations across multiple depots in East Anglia. You will be responsible for managing the transport operations across the East Anglia sites, overseeing a fleet of 40 vehicles including tippers, mixers, articulated lorries, and support vehicles. This role is pivotal in ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency, and high standards of safety and service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations across multiple depots.
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and audit standards.
• Hold responsibility for the company\'s Operator Licence (CPC essential).
• Manage driver onboarding, training, appraisals, and performance.
• Lead and mentor the transport team, fostering a positive and professional culture.
• Monitor and analyse transport system data to drive performance and efficiency.
• Liaise with internal departments and external maintenance providers to ensure fleet roadworthiness and minimise downtime.
• Support fleet optimisation and asset management to meet current and future business needs.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Promote company values and ensure consistent people management.

Experience

• Essential:
• National CPC qualification (must be named on the Operator Licence).
• Minimum 5 years\' experience in transport management.
• Strong understanding of transport regulations and compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• IT proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Desirable:
• Mechanical knowledge or background (operate an in-house fleet maintenance workshop).
• Experience in the construction or quarrying sector.
