Job summary

McCain Foods is seeking a Resource Efficient Operations Co-Ordinator to support environmental compliance at the Whittlesey site, with regional responsibilities across Scarborough, Wombourne, Hull and Whittlesey. The role emphasizes improving sustainability and regulatory compliance through ISO 14001/50001 frameworks.

You will develop environmental policies, report KPIs, lead audits, and advise on equipment and process improvements. Hybrid work, generous benefits, and travel are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or equivalent.
• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental regulations and permits.
• Proven track record of sustainability performance improvements.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint; data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Environmental Management Systems development and upkeep.
• Lead audits, corrective actions, and coaching on best practices.
• Drive resource efficiency: reduce waste, energy, and water use.
• Develop and maintain environmental policies, procedures, standards.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure site readiness for audits.
• Compile KPI reports and provide insights on environmental trends.
• Provide environmental input for new equipment and site expand.
• Procure and manage consumables/equipment for environmental safeguarding.
• Ensure compliance with ESOS, UK ETS, Climate Change Agreements, Renewable Obligations.
• Travel regionally to support business needs.
