Description

A leading utilities contractor are looking for a Regional SHEQ Manager to cover challenging, exciting heavy civil engineering schemes in Yorkshire, across clean and wastewater works. You will be a strong character, providing daily support and driving the safety agenda in conjunction with leading the in-house SHEQ team. Due to the nature of the role, you will ideally have a demonstrable background in water utilities, with experience of coaching and mentoring a team to achieve positive results.

Reporting into the Head of HSE, you will be:

  • Working with Site and Project Management to ensure compliance and improve understanding
  • Instilling a positive Health and Safety culture within the team to positive influence their thinking and actions
  • Coaching site staff and engaging Safety on challenging, multi-phase sites
  • Helping to develop and manage site infrastructure including temporary works
  • Identifying areas for improvement whilst ensuring operational excellence of the SHEQ team
  • Working on SHEQ strategy and acting as liaison with the client on objectives and performance

You will be integral is ensuring the ‘basics’ are delivered on-site, in addition to identifying areas for improvement. You will be a proactive thinker who is visible operationally and improving workforce engagement in Health & Safety. You will also be:

  • CMIOSH or working towards (ESSENTIAL)
  • NEBOSH-qualified (ESSENTIAL)
  • A strong character with a proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice
  • Experienced with major civil engineering and utilities schemes (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experienced in major water infrastructure schemes (PREFERABLE)
  • Experienced in multi-faceted, large-scale construction sites (ESSENTIAL)

You will earn between £65-72,000 (based on experience and suitability) plus car allowance and full management package. An excellent opportunity for you to join a leading industry player with a strong order book and pipeline of work
