Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside senior leaders and national partners, influencing policy and best practice.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, supportive team committed to innovation and improvement.
  • Provide expert advice on change management and transformation to senior leaders.
  • Lead strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of the Regional SEND Programme.
  • Coordinate multi‑agency initiatives and manage associated budgets.
  • Build strong partnerships with local authorities, health, education providers and parent/carer forums.
  • Represent the South West in national networks and working groups.
  • Drive transformation and embed inclusive practice across the region, influencing policy and practice at scale.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Advanced theoretical knowledge in SEND (Masters level or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in improving services for children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience in multi‑agency working and systems leadership.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and budgets.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and co‑production with families and young people.
  • Subject to a DBS check; you must hold a DBS certificate and be compliant with the Board's policies on ex‑offenders and safeguarding.
