Job description

Consulo are proud to be supporting a globally recognised manufacturer of precision gearbox and drive system technologies - a business respected not only for its engineering quality but also for the strength of its customer partnerships and the integrity of its brand. Their products are integral to the performance of countless machines and systems across automation, materials handling, energy, and industrial manufacturing.

With sustained investment in the UK operation and a renewed strategic focus on regional growth, they are seeking an accomplished Regional Sales Manager to take responsibility for the Northern UK territory (covering the Midlands through to the North East and North West, excluding Scotland).

This is an opportunity to represent a name that opens doors - a brand trusted by OEMs, system integrators, and end users alike. You'll be supported by strong technical, applications and service teams, allowing you to concentrate on building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving sustainable, profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of sales activity across the North of England, managing both direct customers and distribution partners.
  • Identify and secure new business through a consultative, technical approach - understanding customer applications and matching them with tailored drive solutions.
  • Strengthen existing relationships, ensuring consistent support, responsiveness, and long-term account development.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver value-added solutions and project support.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to shape regional sales strategy and priorities.
  • Contribute actively to business planning, forecasting, and the wider UK growth agenda.
Candidate Profile
  • Field sales background within gearboxes, drive systems, transmissions, rotating equipment or MRO - from either a manufacturer or a specialist distributor.
  • Technical fluency and the ability to engage confidently with design, maintenance, and engineering decision-makers.
  • Demonstrable record of developing new business and growing key accounts through insight and persistence rather than volume selling.
  • Organised, commercially astute, and comfortable working autonomously across a large region.
  • Ideally qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent practical experience.
The Proposition

This role offers more than a territory to manage - it's an opportunity to become part of a brand that engineers real impact. You'll inherit a strong technical portfolio, a loyal customer base, and the scope to shape how the company continues to grow in the North of the UK.

A competitive package is on offer including a high-quality company car, performance-related bonus, and the chance to build a visible career within a respected international organisation that values initiative, knowledge, and long-term relationships.
