We’re seeking Parkinson’s Disease Homecare Nurses to join our Clinical Team. This is a field‑based, regional position with vacancies in the North, Midlands and South.
This new, exciting role focuses on the care of patients who will receive Produodopa for symptom management. The successful candidate will be an integral member of our transformational Homecare Medicines Nursing Team.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a transient caseload of Parkinson’s Disease patients, supporting the initiation of Produodopa under the care of NHS consultants and ongoing needs within the Patient Support Program.
- Work autonomously, providing community support and clinic support when required.
- Teach patients and carers to administer their Produodopa therapy without direct supervision.
- Participate in home visits, telephone calls, virtual calls and clinics as necessary.
- Collaborate across HealthNet Homecare Regional Nursing Teams, supporting Team Managers and the wider nursing workforce while delivering a personalised Produodopa service.
- Assist the Team Manager in ensuring nurses comply with service level agreements, work orders and contracts, and oversee field nurses caring for Parkinson’s Disease patients.
- Work with external professionals across multiple organisations, including the NHS and the Pharmaceutical Company, to maximise patient outcomes.
- Develop, launch and deliver a bespoke Parkinson’s Disease training and competency program with the Learning and Development team.
- Support the Team Manager in achieving training compliance for staff within the Patient Support Program.
- Ensure consistent high‑quality service delivery, achieving patient outcomes and KPIs, and contributing to business growth and development needs.
- Assist patients and healthcare professionals in delivering seamless service between hospital and home, driving adherence and compliance.
- Practice in accordance with professional competence standards, NMC Code and current nursing practices.
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping of all patient care activities, and communicate changes to the relevant consultant or professional.
- Keep medical supplies and equipment in good working order to support safe service delivery.
- Complete all mandatory professional training within specified deadlines.
- Travel extensively to visit patients, including occasional overnight stays at the company’s expense, to ensure safety and compliance.
- Support ongoing review of the Produodopa service through clinical governance, quality assurance, audits, policy reviews and competency assessments.
- Maintain a professional profile through Continuing Professional Development and share knowledge to improve patient care.
Experience
Essential:- Subject‑matter expert in Parkinson’s Disease management.
Desirable:- Minimum of 5 years post‑registration clinical experience, including time in Parkinson’s Disease or Neurology.
- Proven autonomous experience in community settings.
- Experience administering sub‑cutaneous therapies, IV infusions and phlebotomy.
- Experience supporting and supervising junior staff.
- Experience delivering training through diverse delivery styles.
- Confidence with various IT platforms, including Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Recent CPD evidence relevant to Parkinson’s Disease and/or Neurology care.
- ENB 998 or equivalent in teaching and assessing.
