Position: Regional Operations Manager
Location: Basingstoke (Regional cover)
Grade: RCS
Shift patterns: Monday‑Friday
Day time hours
Contract Type: 6 month Fixed Term Contract (Full‑Time)

What you’ll do
  • Leverage daily, weekly, monthly and annual KPI data to set challenging S.M.A.R.T. targets, continuously measuring performance and refining resource plans to meet evolving operational demands
  • Oversee and drive a Safety First culture by conducting rigorous incident investigations, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring full adherence to workplace safety regulations, procedures and the claims process
  • Develop and roll out a standardised resource planning framework that guarantees optimal trailer availability, minimises vehicle off‑road time, and consistently meets agreed service levels and deadlines
  • Monitor the region's financial performance with precision, managing budgets and controlling costs while collating and analysing contractual KPIs to safeguard profitability and forecast resource requirements
  • Instill a continuous improvement mindset among site operations managers and their teams, leading by example to reinforce core cultural behaviours – respect, results, employee engagement and health and safety
  • Conduct 1‑2‑1s, performance reviews, mid and end of year reviews with direct reports
What you’ll bring
  • Previous Transport and team management experience (at a similar level) is essential
  • International CPC holder is essential
  • Experience within a large item home delivery contract/customer would be desirable
  • Able to travel regionally (with the potential of overnight stay required)
  • Ability to promote continuous improvement agendas, working alongside the Operations Excellence team for cost saving initiatives
  • Confident with policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of operations – Verbal and written
  • Health and Safety qualification would be beneficial
