Regional Logistics Manager – Mells, Somerset (regular travel to Pollington, Goole)

Marshalls Water Management is a Marshalls plc specialist company supplying innovative water management systems for the construction industry that help manage surface water and reduce flood risks in our towns and cities.

We have a new and exciting vacancy for a Regional Logistics Manager to lead the Logistics teams at our Mells and Pollington sites. Reporting to our Logistics Director, you will be responsible for the full logistics operation at both sites.

So, what’s the role?

You’ll lead a team of 12 Drivers across two sites, delivering Marshalls Water Management products on our in‑house fleet of flat‑bed vehicles, as well as managing third‑party vehicles on the sites. You will also be responsible for 3 Transport Planners.

Previous people leadership experience is essential as you will be dealing with all employee relations issues, including conducting regular 1:1s, absence and holiday planning, time‑keeping, and training and discipline within your area.

By putting health and safety at the heart of everything you do, you’ll promote and embed these high standards in your team's culture. You’ll take ownership of all Health, Safety, Quality and Environment standards, and be the go‑to person for all audit purposes.

This is a varied role, and you will also coordinate all logistic activities for the area, including transport, plant and stock management, whilst driving best practice and efficiency in vehicle availability and utilisation.

What are the skills required?
  • Hold a National CPC and previously named on the relevant O Licence
  • Previous experience of a start‑up operation is desirable
  • Previous experience in managing transport general haulage operations in the construction sector is desirable
  • The skills to manage a team remotely
  • Having the confidence to work on one's own initiative
  • A passion for providing excellent levels of customer service
  • Excellent communication, written and influencing skills with the ability to run highly effective meetings confidently with stakeholders
  • Flexibility with regard to working hours as we may require you to start early / finish late, depending on business demands
