Job Description Summary

The Regional General Counsel will be a key member of GE Aerospace’s leadership team for Europe and Africa, leading a team of experienced legal counsels and professionals primarily in support of the Commercial Engines and Services business in region, while also providing legal, regulatory and compliance support to the broader GE Aerospace team.

You will work closely with business leaders, customers, local entities and other stakeholders to deliver outstanding service while providing professional development and career growth opportunities for your team. This role is set apart by the opportunity to marry leadership with transactional work and forge strong partnerships across region and globally across function and business.

As part of the regional leadership team, you’ll help drive the region’s strategy, with customers, suppliers, partners and employees while also embracing FLIGHT DECK to drive continuous improvement and employee and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

This candidate will be required to ensure the effective provision of the full range of legal services to GE Aerospace’s business in the Europe and Africa region, with a primary focus on delivery of commercial and corporate support, which includes:

  • Leading, motivating and inspiring the team of legal counsel and professionals who support CES, including direct and dotted line reports.
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of Commercial Engines and Services transactions and activities with customers, strategic partners and suppliers.
  • Providing ongoing legal support and performing risk control duties to business activities and operating affiliates with respect to various general operating matters, such as commercial disputes, aviation regulatory matters, controllership, company secretarial duties, compliance reviews, trainings and other issues affecting the business and legal entities across region.
  • Serving as a business partner, applying astute business and legal judgment to issues requiring legal, reputational or compliance attention.
  • Coaching and developing others.
  • Supporting and developing external legal networks with customer, partner and supplier legal counsel, as well as building relationships with key external counsel across the region.
  • Leading a direct team, attracting, developing, growing, and retaining outstanding talent, within the function and across the business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Major post qualification experience, with emphasis on commercial/corporate transactions, including cross‑border.
  • Substantial experience in structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing commercial contracts and transactions.
  • Juris Doctorate, LLB/LLM or equivalent from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in England and Wales, New York or other relevant jurisdiction.

  • Strong executive presence, sound judgment, and ability to advise at the highest levels of the organization.

  • Ability and willingness to build strong external networks in support of the business.
