• Significant experience in design management.

• Experience in attending tender interviews and liaising with bid teams.

• Develop the Design Management team structure.

Skills

Design management of live schemes and pre-construction activities

Strong understanding of Quality, Safety, CDM, Environmental and Legislative systems

Detailed knowledge of BREEAM, Part L, Building Regs, Building Safety Act

Considerable industry and operational experience

Overview

Regional Design Manager – Reading – £100,000 + Package – Permanent

Responsibilities

• Ensure the design intent is effectively managed through review, interrogation and management of the design during pre-construction and on live projects.
• Provide support and assistance to Design Manager where their projects are experiencing demands over and above the experience of the appointed Design Manager.
• The Regional Design Manager will ensure that all Design Manager's within the region are following the same processes and procedures including DRM, IRS and design programme.
• Develop the Design Management team and its structure.
• Assist with work winning by review tenders for risk items, attending tender interviews, and liaising with our regional bid team.
• Develop the design management team to support staff in their progression from Assistant to Design Manager and from Design Manager to Senior Design Manager.

Key Skills

• A HNC/ HND/ Degree in Construction/ Architectural Technology/ Architecture/ Engineering.
• Considerable industry and operational experience.
• Design management of live schemes and pre-construction activities.
• A strong understanding of Quality, Safety, CDM, Environmental and Legislative systems and procedures.
• Detailed knowledge of BREEAM, Part L, Building Regs, Building Safety Act and industry standards.
